Classification of Stainless Steels according to AISI regulations
According to their crystalline structure, Stainless Steels are classified as:
Martensitic Steels
Ferritic Steels
Austenitic Steels
Duplex Steels
Precipitation-hardened Steels
Based on a specific grading (AISI 420, for Martensitic steels, AISI 430 for Ferritic steels and AISI 304 for Austenitic steels) and modifying one or more alloy components, we may obtain several variations within one same group, which present different properties to better serve diverse uses.
